ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨFor some actors age is just a number when it comes to giving their best performance. These senior impressed the audiences with their relatable, brave, and uncanny performances
Bollywood, as it does every year, provided a multitude of stuff for audiences to gorge on. Audiences were overwhelmed with a wide range of genres and possibilities. There were a few senior actors who left a mark on their audiences with their relatable, brave, and uncanny performances. As the year draws to a close, we’ve compiled a list of selected senior performers who gave incredible performances on the big screen. Take a look at them:
1. Neena Gupta in Sardar Ka Grandson
Sardar Ka Grandson, in which Neena Gupta plays a 90-year-old woman, depicts a special bond between individuals who lived in Punjab before partition. Neena’s Sardar Kaur, a long-time Lahore native, now resides in Amritsar, with her extended family. Her fading heart, however, continues to beat for the old house in the Lahore gali. All she wants now is to visit the place one last time.
2. Shefali Shah in Ajeeb Dastan
Shefali Shah has given us some amazing performances over the year and her acting skills are terrific. In the Netflix series Ajeeb Daastaans, Shefali Shah played a bold part. The sheer majesty of Shah’s Natasha, which is included in the closing segment Ankahi, overpowers the other narratives. Ankahi is a tonal juggling performance set in a romantically lit Mumbai that describes the grim reality of marriage, and the lack of a companion that leads to infidelity.
3. Pankaj Tripathi in Mimi
Mimi is a remake of Samruddhi Porey’s 2011 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy, which won a National Award for Best Marathi Film. Mimi, a surrogacy-themed film, throws light on a significant taboo in our society. While the tale continues to raise awareness about surrogacy, Pankaj Tripathi’s comedic appearance in the film perfectly balances the serious message. The actor, who plays Bhanu, has garnered a lot of praise for his outstanding performance in the film.
4. Supriya Pathak in Rashmi Rocket
Rashmi Rocket tells the story of a blazing sprinter whose career is hampered by a secret gender test. Taapsee Pannu gives an outstanding performance in the film, but Rashmi’s mother Bhanuben deserves special mention. While her daughter struggles to be ‘woman enough,’ Bhauben is working for the education of girls in her community. In the movie, the mother-daughter relationship takes on a life of its own.

5. Amitabh Bachchan in Chehre
Lateef Zaidi, played by Amitabh Bachchan, is an eccentric public prosecutor. With his gang of friends, he stages a fake trial to determine if justice has been served, and if not, to ensure that justice is served. Chehre is a wonderful concept with a lot of drama and high-pitched speech, but it didn’t land smoothly. However, Amitabh Bachchan’s powerful performance stands out.
