Paurashpur: Poulomi Das Explains Why The Period Drama is A Must Watch For Everyone

The Paurashpur trailer is out now in ZEE5 and the show is all set to release at the end of this month. During the ZEE5 December Launch Party, Poulomi Das and Sahil Salathia appeared on the virtual call along with host Rohit Khilani. The two had a fun discussion about their shooting days during the COVID-19 lockdown. Poulomi also stated a few reasons why the period drama is a must-watch for the audience.

Poulomi Das states reasons to watch Paurashpur 

Poulomi Das and Sahil Salathia who are a part of Paurashpur’s star cast appeared on the virtual party of ZEE5’s what’s new in December. Poulomi who plays the role of Kala in the series said that it was very difficult for her to maintain distance from everybody on the sets as she is habituated to hugging people when she meets them. When asked about why the audience should watch the series, Poulomi said that the period drama is extremely different from the ones we have seen before.

She said that Paurashpur which is based in 1800 has created a completely new and different era. She believes the costumes and the dialogues of the series are worth admiring. She further explained why you can’t trust any character in Paurashpur and how everyone has a different story to tell. She also revealed how the series has many twists and turns and why the audience is up for a fun ride in this new show. Poulomi also said that they have taken a lot of efforts to make the period drama look real and that’s one of the major reasons why the audience should spend some time watching the series.

While talking about the shooting scenario, Sahil mentioned that they shot the series while people were staying put in the lockdown. The entire cast and crew wore masks and the sets were constantly sanitized. Poulomi and Sahil also mentioned that they were not allowed to even shake hands with each other and thus did the fist bump to greet each other. They added that even though they were scared to shoot in such a scenario, they were also very excited as it was a new experience for them.

Paurashpur’s story revolves around how women did not have their opinions in the era and how they were treated as mere objects. The Paurashpur cast features Annu Kapoor as Raja Bhadrapratap Singh, Shilpa Shinde as Queen Meerwati, Poulomi Das as Kala, Milind Sonam as Boris and Shaheer Sheikh as Veer Singh. The trailer of Paurashpur is extremely dark with many erotic scenes and also highlights gender politics. The period drama looks promising and we’re already excited to watch it.
