Sita on the Road: 5 reasons to watch this women-centric anthology starring Kalpika Ganesh

Written and directed by Praneeth Yaron, the ZEE5 Original film Sita on the Road revolves around five women, who have had enough of society. They embark on a road trip and find each other on the way. The ZEE5 Original movie boasts of an ensemble cast that consists of Uma Lingaiah, Kalpika Ganesh, Nesa Farhadi, Gayathri Gupta, and Khatera Hakimi.

1) Convincing performances by the leading ladies 

You might recognise Kalpika Ganesh from the ZEE5 Original Loser, and Gayathri Gupta from the hit ZEE5 web series Shoot-out At Alair. The others are all relatively fresh in the industry but put forth commendable performances. Each actress in the movie lives her role with utmost conviction.

2) A story surrounding women’s lives 

Stories about women are slowly being taken up by several filmmakers and this movie seems to be a pleasant addition to the ongoing change. The movie shows women from all walks of life and makes sure that it does justice to how they are represented. It is certainly a step up for all the women-centric stories!

3) Refreshing music

The music for the movie is also scored by Praneeth Yaron, who keeps the music as refreshing as the movie. Watch out for the track ‘Nuvvena’ which is an honest attempt with classical music. The music perfectly blends with the universe and takes the story forward in its own beautiful way.

4) Raj Anantha’s scenic cinematography

Praneeth Yaron makes a commendable directorial debut with Sita on the Road. He is a great storyteller and will make sure to immerse you in the universe of the story. He makes sure to leave a mark, making us eagerly await his next venture.
