SSR Case: Rhea Chakraborty Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody

On Tuesday (September 8), Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court rejected Rhea Chakraborty’s plea stating that it cannot grant bail for cognizable offences. She has been sent to 14-day judicial custody after being arrested by the NCB on Tuesday afternoon. She was produced before the magistrate through video conferencing. The actor who is the prime accused in Sushant Singh Rajput death case was arrested by NCB after three days of questioning in connection to the alleged link to drug suppliers. In its remand application for Chakraborty, NCB stated that she is an active member of a “drug syndicate.” The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) further added that Rhea Chakraborty used to manage finance for drug procurement along with the late actor. Meanwhile, several Bollywood celebrities took to their respective social media handles to express their opinions on Chakraborty’s arrest. While some lauded the NCB, others expressed displeasure upon the same.
