What’s The Real Reason Behind Sonam Kapoor Shifting Her Base To London?

Many Bollywood actresses have done very few films or have even left their career post wedlock, only to come back to the industry after a long hiatus. Some examples of this could be actresses like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Juhi Chawla among others. But is Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor also joining the list? Is that why she shifted to London with her husband Anand Ahuja? Read on to find out.

Bollywood actress and star-kid Sonam Kapoor got the dream debut any actor in the industry could ask for. She worked under the ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his 2007 film Saawariya. Sonam was paired with Ranbir Kapoor who also made his debut with the film. Despite the film turning out to be a flop at the box office, both Sonam and Ranbir got many other film offers, thanks to their family name. While Ranbir proved his mettle and became one of the most loved stars today, the same can’t be said about Sonam. In spite of several movies, Sonam couldn’t match up to her father’s success or even her contemporaries like Deepika Padukone.

Later, Sonam Kapoor aka Sonam K Ahuja tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Anand Ahuja in a grand ceremony in Mumbai on May 8, 2018. Post that, the couple shifted to London and have been living there. Sonam hasn’t been doing many movies since then. In fact, she’s only worked in three movies after her marriage. However, it is unclear if the actress has intentionally decided to pick a fewer number of projects or if she’s picky with her subjects. Sonam has never mentioned her intention of quitting Bollywood and there are chances that she’s simply staying back in London until the coronavirus situation normalises in India.

On the work front, the list of Sonam Kapoor’s movies to release in the year isn’t that long. In fact, she only has one upcoming film which is Shome Makhija’s Blind. The actress recently completed the shoot a few months ago and the film is scheduled to release by the end of 2021.
