6 TV Couples Like Abhi-Pragya, Malhar-Kalyani And Their Lambi Judaiyaan!

In the Ramayan, Ram and Sita were born to be together, but they spent years apart due to many circumstances. But even when they were not together, their minds still chanted each others’ names. Even when Sita with Luv and Kush lived in the forest and away from Ayodhya, she still loved Ram, regardless of their differences. Many Zee couples too have been in similar situations. And these situations have compelled them to part ways for years together! Let us recount some of our favourite Zee jodis who had to suffer lambi judaiyaan!

Preeta and Karan in Kundali Bhagya

When Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) married Preeta (Shraddha Arya) without her consent, he did it in a fit of rage. He wanted to see her suffer and ruin her life. So he married her and left her. Preeta had no choice but to go back to her mother’s house on her wedding night and she was a mess for days. She was afraid to step out and angry at Karan for humiliating her to this extent. Though she chose to remain married to him, she did not see him for a while and they did not live together for almost a year after their marriage! She had to complete her Karwa Chauth fast secretly so that Karan would not notice her!

Abhi and Pragya from Kumkum Bhagya

Kumkum Bhagya is one of the most loved shows on Zee and recently completed its seven long years run. In these seven years on the show, the couple has spent at least 27 years apart! The first time they spent seven years apart was after Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) blamed Pragya (Sriti Jha) for Dadi’s death. Pragya was shown jumping off a clip and was presumed to be dead. But she survived and shifted to London with King Singh and her daughter Kiara. For seven years #AbhiGya didn’t see each other until one day their paths meet again. But again, just when things started looking fine for them, Kiara was killed by Nikhil and the duo blamed each other for it and parted ways. Pragya then gave birth to their twins and Abhi decided to take Rhea (Pooja Banerjee) while Pragya raised Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar). Abhi and Pragya then met after 20 long years.

Neel and Chahat in Qurbaan Hua

Neel (Rajveer Singh) and Chahat (Pratibha Ranta) meet each other after seven whole years on the show. Chahat gave birth to twins and Neel stays with his son Shlok whereas Chahat stays with Dua. They meet for a tournament in Shimla where they form new relationships with the kids. They got married seven years ago but Vyasji never approved of their union because Chahat’s identity as a Muslim was got revealed to him. Later Chahat makes Neel believe that she is dead until he sees her with Sahil! He assumes that she left him for Sahil and takes one of the twins with him in anger.

Malhar and Kalyani in Tujhse Hai Raabta

Similar to #AbhiGya, when Moksh died on the show, Malhar (Sehban Azim) and Kalyani (Reem Shaikh) blamed each other for his death. Malhar shot Kalyani and thought she was dead but she survived. They were away from each other for five years after that incident! Malhar then lives in the guilt of losing her and becomes the ACP of the area. Meanwhile, Kalyani becomes the district magistrate and is set to marry Vikram but on her engagement day, a fire breaks out at the venue and Malhar saves Kalyani. They finally lay eyes on each other after five long years!

Akshat and Guddan in Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega

Akshat (Nishant Singh Malkani) and Guddan (Kanika Mann) had a tumultuous relationship where they begin to fall in love only to be interrupted by his ex-wife, Antara (Dalljiet Kaur). She comes back to the Jindal family because she wants to be rich and powerful and a lot of misunderstandings occur which result in Guddan leaving Akshat. Mainly it is because Alisha (Akshat and Antara’s daughter) arrives at the Jindal house and this shocks Guddan. This makes Akshat angry and he gets devasted.  He marries Anatara as revenge and becomes an alcoholic. They meet four years later when Akshat has become an alcoholic with no control in the house and Guddan is a successful movie star!

Jai and Bani in Kasamh Se

Jai Walia (Ram Kapoor) and Bani’s (Prachi Desai) relationship started off on a rocky path. Jai was to marry Pia but she eloped with Pushkar, leaving Bani to handle the mess that she left behind. Bani and Jai slowly began to understand each other but still, they had a lot of outside forces who were interested in ruining their marriage. Once, Pia frames Bani for a murder she didn’t commit and in order to save her, Jai has to leave her in a mental hospital for five years. Later when issues clear up, Bani and Jai’s sons are kidnapped and murdered and he blames her for it. They stay separated for five years but that’s not it. After reuniting, they part ways for 16 years once again, due to Jigyasa and Pia’s various ploys!
