Zee Rishtey Awards 2020: Ankita Lokhande’s Emotional Tribute To Sushant Singh Rajput Will Leave You Teary-Eyed

From fighting a global pandemic to losing a dear one, it won’t be wrong to say that the year 2020 took an emotional toll on many of us. Just like any individual, this year left a void in the hearts of Zee stars as they lost a family member in Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant, who marked his acting debut with Pavitra Rishta gained massive popularity in Bollywood with his acting calibre. The news of his death had undoubtedly broken everyone’s heart. And, while we are celebrating the honourable work of the Zee family, how can we forget to pay a tribute to one of the most loved stars of the family. Sushant’s ex-girlfriend and Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokahnde gave an emotional performance as a tribute to th actor at the recently held Zee Rishtey Awards. As per the above video, before Ankita graced the stage, a small introduction of Sushant’s journey was shared on the stage. The introduction video had a few glimpses of SSR as Maanav from Pavitra Rishta. Later, Ankita joined the stage. For the performance, Ankita can be seen dressed up in the character of Archana Deshmukh while her co-dancer is the stand-in for Sushant. They delivered a couple-dance on song Saathiya. As this bit of their performance came to its end, a small portion of Pavitra Rishta’s title track was also added.

Later, Usha Nadkarni, who essayed the character of Sushnat’s mother on the screen in Pavitra Rishta, took over the stage. While shedding tears, Usha said that she still remembers Sushant as her son. She further recalled the traits of Maanva and Sushant and highlighted how they both were different from each other. Later, the co-dancer, who was disguised as Sushant’s character, came on stage and grooved with Usha for a while.

As the performance moved forward, Ankita Lokhande took over the stage and shook her leg on his songs from MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. She performed on Kaun Tujhe and Jab Tak and ended the tribute performance on an emotional note as she remembered him and gave a speech. She left the stage after saying, “We miss you Sushant”.
