Maidaan is an upcoming biographical sports film that stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role with Priya Mani Raj and Gajraj Rao. It is probably one of the most awaited films of Ajay Devgn, which was announced in 2019. While previously the film’s shoot kept getting delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has now faced another big roadblock due to the cyclone Tauktae, which recently hit the northern part of the Western Coast of India. Since last year, 2020, the shoot of Ajay Devgn’s film, Maidaan, has been facing a lot of trouble and delays, pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the other trouble that the film’s shoot has faced, is that the film’s set got badly destroyed due to the heavy rainfall and storms caused by Cyclone Tauktae.

Maidaan was being shot in the outskirts of Mumbai, where about 40 people from the production crew were taking care of the set till the time the shooting could resume. However, the cyclone brought such heavy rainfall and winds, that none of the crew members could save the set from getting destroyed, despite trying their best. Luckily, there has been no loss of lives at the Maidaan set.

The film is currently slated to release on 15 October 2021. The plot of Maidaan revolves around the story of the time when Indian football was in its golden era. Set in 1952-1962, the film stars Ajay Devgn as Coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the football coach of the Indian national football team in that decade.
