The new President of MAA couldn’t control his tears from rolling down his cheeks while he hugged and thanked Prakash Raj, who played a worthy opponent. Vishnu’s father, Mohan Babu, showed full faith in his son while stating that Manchu Vishnu will keep all of his election pledges.

The Telugu film industry’s Movie Artists Association (MAA) has a new president and he’s no other than Vishnu Manchu himself. After beating legendary actor Prakash Raj, the actor-producer was chosen as the next President. Where on one hand Prakash Raj seemed humble in his defeat while he congratulated the next deserving President, Manchu Vishnu broke down at the result announcements. The new President of MAA couldn’t control his tears from rolling down his cheeks while he hugged and thanked Prakash Raj, who played a worthy opponent.

 

As the results became more obvious, celebrations began even before the formal announcement at the Jubilee Hills Public School polling center. Vishnu’s father, Mohan Babu, showed full faith in his son while stating that Manchu Vishnu will keep all of his election pledges. Following a month of campaigning and extravagant remarks exchanged between the competing parties, the victors were declared after a heated vote war. 

After receiving 381 votes, Manchu Vishnu defeated Prakash Raj by a whopping 107 votes. He will be in office as the President of the Movie Artists Association from 2021 until 2023. Speaking of his cabinet members, Manchu Vishnu’s panel members also won the elections for other positions, such as joint secretary Gautam Raju, vice-president Madala Ravi, and general secretary and treasurer Y. Raghubabu and M. Siva Balaji, respectively. Actor Srikanth defeated Mohan Babu to earn the position of Executive Vice President from the Prakash Raj panel.

Vishnu Manchu expressed his thankfulness for his victory on Twitter. He said that the affection and support he received from his cinema community has left him “humbled.” From around 900 eligible voters, over 600 turned up for casting their votes which included megastars such as Chiranjeevi, Jaya Prada, and Pawan Kalyan. Other popular actors such as Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and Vijay Deverakonda were noted absently due to prior work commitments.
