83 Box-Office Collection Day 10: The Ranveer Singh Starrer Getting Close To Reach The 100 Crore Club; Moves At A Steady Pace

With the surge in the Covid cases as well as the rise of Omicron instances all around the country, films have faced a major setback once again. The government has implied strict guidelines in many regions owing to a dip in the number of viewers in cinema halls. 83 starring Ranveer Singh, has seen a significant decline in box office receipts in its second weekend. Despite the New Year’s holiday, the film struggled to attract a large viewership.

On its second weekend, this sports movie grossed Rs 18.50 crore net. According to reports, 83 saw a 58 percent dip in its second-weekend box office. Given that the picture was released during two holiday weekends, Christmas and New Year’s, this is a significant reduction. The film grossed 7.31 crore on its tenth day, bringing the total to 91.27 crores. 83, helmed by Kabir Khan, is centered on the Indian cricket team’s legendary win in the 1983 World Cup.

The film was highly acclaimed by fans and critics. Ranveer Singh was immensely lauded for his performance. All the actors did a great job. Apart from Ranveer, the film also featured Deepika Padukone, who played Romi Bhatia, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, and others.

Ranveer Singh had to go through a lot of training for the film. In an interview, he talked about his journey. He said that he used to play cricket continuously for 6 months. It took almost 3 months for the actor to get in the shoes of Kapil Dev, especially learning his unique bowling style. Due to Ranveer’s stiff and strong body posture, he had to go through a special workout session in order to get the flexibility of sportsmen.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film also features Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key roles.
