Aggabai Sunbai: Five Instances When Shubhra Reminded Us Of The ‘Old Asawari’

In Aggabai Sunbai, we recently found out the real reason behind Shubhra’s change. As we know, she used to be a really confident and bold woman, but she is the total opposite now. In many ways, she reminds us of how Asawari used to be eight years back before she became a businesswoman. While we’re hoping for Shubhra to find her lost confidence again, here’s a look at five peculiar instances when she reminded us of the ‘old Asawari’, take a look.

1. Making excuses for Soham

Asawari would always give Soham the benefit of the doubt and would refuse to believe that even he could go wrong. Much like Asawari, even Shubhra overlooks all the red flags and makes excuses for Soham’s ill behaviour. She has placed blind trust in him and this is going to hurt her just like it did to Asawari.

2. Listening to Ajoba’s whims

While we adore Ajoba, we cannot ignore the fact that he used to be way too dependent on Asawari for everything. Even for the things that he could easily do himself like wearing footwear or picking up litter from the floor. Years have gone by, but Shubhra continues to place his footwear and does simple things for him just like Asawari did!

3. Picking out Soham’s clothes

Looks like Soham does not like to pick out his own clothes, he needs a woman to do it for him. Previously, it used to be his mother and now it is his wife. While picking out clothes for your partner could be a gesture of love, but Soham does not see it that way. He thinks it is Shubhra’s job and she should do it dutifully.

4. Over spoiling Shubham

Asawari used to over spoil Soham, she would never discipline him or scold him, and she would pamper him a lot. We see similar traits in Shubhra when it comes to handling her son Shubham. She always gives in to all of Shubham’s tantrums just like Asawari did.

5. Being at everyone’s beck and call

Apart from these particular instances, let us talk about the biggest similarity – compliant behaviour. Shubhra is always at everyone’s beck and call, she never says no to anyone and always places other’s comfort over her own. This is exactly how Asawari used to be and it took a toll on her life!

Well, we hope that Shubhra is able to get out of this phase just like her mother-in-law and that she goes back to being the Shubra we miss!
