Annabelle Sethupathi, a laugh-riot to watch out for

One genre which never fades away in delivering a box-office success that filmmakers bank upon is horror-comedy. Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’ is one such multi-lingual film in this genre that is ready to enthrall the audience soon. Needless to say, about the word ‘Annabelle’ which is a successful horror series in Hollywood. To garner the fame associated with this, the team of this horror-comedy comes up with an interesting title ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’ which has already got a great response.

The makers have recently unveiled its trailer and it is trending big time. Going by trailer, the main plot revolves around a royal palace built by King Veera Sethupathi (played by Vijay Sethupathi) in 1948 to woo his fiancée Annabelle (played by Taapsee Pannu). The film is been set up in 1948 background and cut to a present generation where the palace left abandoned which is believed to haunted by ghosts.

The two-and-a-half-minute-long laugh-riot trailer builds up the expectations of the movie. However, fans of ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi got disappointed due to the less screen time of their demigod in the trailer. Reacting to the trailer, a fan replied, “#AnnabelleSethupathiTrailer….i saw the trailer in #YouTube and disliked it because where is @VijaySethuOffl sir in the trailer…he comes only for 1min or so…i think the film makers r using his fame to promote this movie Folded hands.”

Fans of Vijay Sethupathi in Telugu and Tamil are definitely looking out for this movie to watch their favourite star in action and comedy episodes. According to sources from the movie team, most parts of the film were shot in Jaipur which is known for its royal palaces.

Helmed by the son of veteran director Sundarrajan, Deepak Sundarrajan ropes in an ensemble cast from across south India. Apart from Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu who are playing the lead roles, there are Jagapathi Babu, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Yogi Babu, Jayaram, Vennela Kishore, and Rajendra Prasad in other important roles.

Releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, Annabelle Sethupathi is slated for release on September 17 on a leading OTT platform. Film lovers will be enthralled with this laugh riot during this festival season.
