During Coldplay’s Tuesday night show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, Chris Martin took the opportunity to dedicate the band’s latest song to girlfriend Dakota Johnson.
As the band proceeded to play their new song, “My Universe,” a collaboration with the group BTS, Martin, 44, enthused from the stage, “This is about my universe, and she’s here.” During the serenade, the front man also pointed at Johnson, 32, in the balcony, in case anyone was still puzzled.
The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress responded by clasping his hands together in gratitude before flinging them both into the air and swaying to the new song. Nothing beats seeing Chris Martin weep over Dakota Johnson in the middle of a sold-out music hall.
Chris was on stage with his band, Coldplay, when he made a rare public declaration of love for his longtime girlfriend, who was watching from the audience at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
When Chris’ shout-out, as well as Dakota’s beautiful reaction, was captured on video during Coldplay’s set. While standing in the mezzanine portion of the stadium, she could be seen momentarily covering her lips with her hands.
The two stars, who originally became romantically connected in late 2017, certainly have a closer affinity than ever before. Although they were seen in Palma De Mallorca, Spain in July, when they enjoyed a boat trip and some sightseeing, the private couple doesn’t usually flaunt their romance publicly.

Dakota and the Grammy Award winner moved into a $12.5 million property in Malibu, California, in March. Chris owned the house at the time, but affirmed that the Fifty Shades of Grey actress “is living there with him.”
Dakota was asked about the relationship during a 2018 interview with Tatler, and while she stated she was “not going to talk about it,” she added, “But I am happy.”
