Satyanweshi Byomkesh

Directed by Sayantan Ghosh and written by Anjan Dutt, this film is a classic suspense thriller for an exciting and fun movie night for everyone. Based on a Byomkesh Bakshi novel Magno Mainak, the film stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay as the famous fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi. A 2019 film, it follows Byomkesh’s investigation of a murder case upon the request of Santosh Samaddar.

Daab Chingri

A 2019 film, directed by Sudeep Das, Daab Chingri follows the journey of some elderly who live in an old age home and cook and sell home-cooked meals. Showcasing the trouble that follows soon after the owner falls terribly sick, it is a heartwarming story which will hit your nostalgia as well as deeper emotions. Starring veteran actors Paran Bandhopadhyay and Sandhya Roy, this will surely make anyone crave some of their favourite dishes.

Mayurakshi

Directed by Atanu Ghosh, Mayurakshi explores the depths and complications of the relationship between a man and his aged father. A 2017 film, it makes you reanalyse your relationships with your family and the meaning behind them as Prosenjit and Soumitra Chatterjee give spectacular performances with their roles.

Sonar Kella

Another popular Satyajit Ray directorial film, Sonar Kella also stars Soumitra Chatterjee as Feluda. The film follows the story of the investigation of Feluda after he is asked to take care of Mukul, a gifted child. It leads him to Rajasthan as Mukul is taken there by a parapsychologist and what follows are thrilling sequences and encounters in their journey for us to enjoy.

Heerak Rajar Deshe

One of the most popular films of its time, Heerak Rajar Deshe is a family favourite in every household. The 1980 film by Satyajit Ray stars Tapen Chatterjee, Rabi Ghosh, Utpal Dutt, Santosh Dutt and Soumitra Chatterjee. It follows Goopy and Bagha’s process of setting the tyrannical King right with the help of Udayan, school teachers belonging to the same kingdom.

Joi Baba Felunath

A 1979 film written and directed by Satyajit Ray, it is an all-time favourite film that we have all grown to love over many years. One of the most popular Feluda films, Joi Baba Felunath stars late actor Soumitra Chatterjee as Feluda. A cult classic by the eminent director, people of all ages can enjoy this film forever.
