Dia Mirza Recalls Her Life-Changing Moment Of Being Crowned Miss Asia Pacific

Dia Mirza has played many roles in her professional life. She worked as a model, an actor, an activist and a producer. She recently shared how she felt when she was crowned Miss Asia Pacific. Take a look at what the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein actor had to say about her life-changing moment.

Dia Mirza talks about her life-changing moment 

Dia Mirza ,in 2000, was crowned as the Miss Asia Pacific International. She recently took to her Instagram to share what she felt at that time. In the video, the host announces the first runner up and then Dia’s name as the winner. She shared a couple of photos as a collage from the event. Dia mentioned that she was an 18-year-old when she was crowned the title and her life changed within a few seconds. At the age of 16, she was scouted by a modelling agent which led her to the pageant.

She wrote,” Looking back, winning felt like a transition from my old life to a new one. I was still the same but everything else had changed.” She added that as she thinks back of those times, she feels that everything was meant to happen. She shared that over the years the roles that she had taken on were myriad from a model to an actor to a producer and then an activist and changemaker. She advises youngsters to believe in themselves, be authentic and trust life. She adds, “Always know that a bigger force is at work to take you towards a higher purpose where you can make a positive difference, somehow.”

In her caption, she quoted poet Robert Frost and said that her father had penned this on a card that he kept on her bedside during this phase. She read it every day during her pageant days and felt motivated and she reads it even today. She said that she can’t believe that its been 20 long years to this day. She adds, “So grateful to every single person that has contributed to my growth”

Later Dia Mirza went on to do Bollywood films like  Dum, Deewanapan, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Tumsa Nahin Dekha – A Love Story, Parineeta, Dus, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Salam Mumbai. She also made her digital debut with ZEE5 with her ZEE5 original series Kaafir. She was awarded for her role as Kainaaz in Kaafir at the Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2020. She is currently working as an activist and a humanitarian with the UN and Wildlife Trust of India.
