Esha Deol Takhtani Shares Her Take On Nepotism, ‘We Have Our Own Struggle Being Born To Parents Who Are Legends’

Bollywood actress Esha Deol Takhtani recently opened up about how she was compared to her mom right from her first film, and other pressures of being born into a film-oriented family.

Bollywood actress Esha Deol Takhtani is all set for her comeback with an incredible performance in her recent film titled, ‘Ek Duaa’. The film was released on July 26, 2021, on the digital platform Voot. Esha has been highly appreciated for her role as Abida in the film. Meanwhile, Bollywood Life got in touch with the actress to engage in a candid conversation around films, her bond with her mother, nepotism and more. That’s when the actress talked about the struggles of being born to “parents who are legends”.

Esha talked about her film Ek Duaa and how much she enjoyed playing the role of the mother, Abida. she also called her bond with her mother, Hema Malini, a “sacred” bond. Later, the actress was asked about her take on Nepotism and whether she thinks it has been blown out of proportion lately, as the same thing wasn’t being said back when she had debuted.

Responding to this Esha Deol said, “I don’t know if it’s blown out of proportion now or not. But we are actors, we go on set, do our job and come back home, whether you’re from the industry or not. We are ‘supposed’ to be from the industry because we’re born to actors but it’s my fate that I was born into this family. Since I have seen it so closely as a child – my parents getting ready, being on set – you tend to take into a similar profession.”

Talking about her experience as a star kid Esha added, “We have our own struggles being born to parents who are legends. The kids have their own struggles. So I wouldn’t say that anything is easy for anyone.” Recalling how she was always compared to her mother Esha stated, “I was always compared to my parents from my first film. So everything comes with its pros and cons but I feel I am extremely fortunate. For me they are my parents, to the world they are Hema Malini and Dharmendra so you can imagine how that may feel.”
