Vivek Mushran’s starry debut Saudagar made him emerge as the new superstar of Hindi Cinema. In this first silver screen project, Vivek shared screen space with legendary stars including Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar. Also, the actor’s performance as a charming young hero impressed the audience as well as the critics. Vivek was paired up opposite Manisha Koirala in this adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. While the film became a big hit in theatres, it gave the industry a new superstar.

Following the release of Saudagar, Vivek’s stardom was at its peak. The actor received several film offers as a lead. However, none of them lived up to his debut Saudagar. Despite featuring as the main lead in many films, Vivek was unable to sustain his stardom. And somewhere in the competitive era of 90s cinema, Vivek’s Bollywood journey started crumbling down.

Though he lost the status of being Hindi cinema’s superstar, he became a household name through small screens. Yes! The actor’s second innings began with a range of successful TV shows. Also, simultaneously, Vivek continues his Bollywood presence by playing supporting characters.
