1. The Randhawa Family Of Kamli Ishq Di

1/5

Everyone has a reason to go back home. Some people are blessed to live in a joint family while some are living happily in their nuclear family. With the support of family, one can turn the impossible into the possible. So, on the occasion of International Family Day, we discuss families from Zee Punjabi serials and what we can learn from them. The families from the Punjabi serials Heer Ranjha, Tu Patang Main Dor, Kamli Ishq Di, and Khasma Nu Khani are each unique in themselves. Let’s take a look!

Watch the latest episode of Kamli Ishq Di here:

Kamli Ishq Di revolves around Deshveer (Jashn Kohli) and his struggles and aspirations. Deshveer stays with his uncle Sukhdev and aunt Lalli. He has a supportive sister, Nimrat. Preeto lives with them as a family member, but she dreams of marrying Deshveer. One thing that you can learn from Deshveer’s family is that you should let your children live their dreams. Deshveer aspires to become a soldier, his uncle and sister support him. But his aunt doesn’t want him to succeed due to her ulterior motives. So be like Sukhdev or Nimrat and not like Lalli masi.

2. The Arora Family From Khasma Nu Khani

2/5

Next, we have a nuclear family. The Aroras from the Punjabi TV show Khasma Nu Khani consist of Arman Arora (Navdeesh Arora), Deshpreet Arora (Harsimran Oberoi), and cute little Purab ‘Pinky’ Arora (Shreeansh Sharma). Arman’s parents live in the village while he lives in the city. That is the reason why Arman has the guts to have an affair with Simple and then kick his loving wife out of the house. What you learn from the Aroras is, if you’re the head of the family, then behave like one. Don’t take your relationships for granted. Arman is blessed to have a wife like Deshpreet, but now after moving in with Simple, he has shown his true colours.

3. The Dysfunctional Families Of Heer and Ranjha

3/5

In the Punjabi TV serial Heer Ranjha, Heer and Ranjha both live in joint families. If Heer has a supportive mother like Malki (Kiranjit Kaur), then Ranjha was blessed with a motherly sister-in-law like Shaukat (Mayuri Chopra). Heer’s biggest enemy is her uncle Kaido (Rahul Jaittly) and Ranjha’s first sworn enemy is his elder sister-in-law Allahrakhi (Kavya Pathak). Heer has a strict but a lovable father Chuchak Chaudary (Rohit Tannan), whereas Ranjha’s father Mojju (Rajesh Bajaj) was a kind-hearted person who was murdered by Kaido. What Heer’s family teaches you is that you should trust your child. If you have a doubt or someone is accusing your child, then clear it out with them. Ranjha’s brother kicks him out because Allahrakhi hates him and cannot bear Shaukat and Ranjha’s bond. If Ranjha’s family had spoken frankly between themselves, they would not have come to this juncture.

4. The Madhouse Of Sandy From Vilayti Bhabhi

4/5

Vilayti Bhabhi’s Sandy (Kanwalpreet Singh) lives with his family, who is nothing less than a jukebox of comedy. Every member of the family is uniquely funny. The head of the family, Beeji Gulab Kaur (Sushma Prashant), is the saiflie and panic queen. Sandy’s mother Nirmal Kaur (Damini K. Shetty) is the most dramebaaz mother you’ve seen. House help Nawab (Guru Sewak) is funny and smart as a fox. Last but not the least, Emily is the one who can adjust and mould herself like a chameleon. So Sandy’s family shows you that a family with polar opposites can also live together happily.

5. The Perfect Family Of Amandeep Singh From Tu Patang Main Dor

5/5

Tu Patang Main Dor’s Amandeep Singh (Rohit Handa) is bestowed with a family that looks out for each other. Aman’s father Diyal Singh (Satnam Kang) is an upright man, and his mother Amrit Kaur (Amandeep Bhogal) is a devoted homemaker and a loving mother. His uncle Taya Kirpal Singh (Sunny Gill Ambersariya) is a braveheart who has sacrificed his dream of getting united with his love for his family. Aman’s constant attempts to unite Kirpal with Ilma are worth taking note of. Diyal taking a stand to protect his family is also a brave step. What Aman’s family teaches you is that if you have a loving family, you should dare to do anything to support them.
