Lataa Saberwal Aka Akshara’s Mother From Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Quits The TV Industry

Television actor Lataa Saberwal, who is best known for essaying the role of Rajshri Maheshwari aka Hina Khan’s mother in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has now shocked her fans with her latest Instagram post. In a shocking turn of events, Lataa Saberwal has now decided to quit the TV world for good. Taking to her social media platform, the actor conveyed her plan of quitting daily soaps which has left her fans and followers sad.

Saberwal made the official announcement on Saturday, February 6. In the post, besides informing fans about her future plan, she also announced that she will accept projects including web shows, series, movies and cameo on OTT/films. So, it is clear that the actor isn’t bidding adieu to her acting career. However, she has now only decided to perform on OTT platforms and films.

“Announcing it formally, that I have quit daily soaps though I am open for web, movies or a great cameo. Thank you daily soaps for being an integral part of my life,” Lata’s note read on Instagram. Although fans are deeply saddened to know her decision, they are heartily extending support to her plans of joining movies and OTT.

Lataa while announcing the news officially, did not unveil the reason behind the decision. Many fans speculate that the actor now wants to experiment with her roles and hence wants to only act in films and web shows. Lataa began her acting journey almost 2 decades ago with the show, Geeta Rahasya.

Ever since, she has been a part of hit shows including Main Teri Parchhain Hoon, Naaginn, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Ishq Mein Marjawan, and many more. Not only TV, but the actor also has been a part of several hit Bollywood films including Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Vivah and Isha Vishk. Lataa is married to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Sanjeev Seth. The duo is a parent to a 7-year-old boy.
