Munna Bhai M.B.B.S: When Late Sunil Dutt Talked About His Experience Of Working With Son Sanjay Dutt
Trending NewsTake a look at what iconic duo Sunjay Dutt and Late Sunil Dutt had to say about their super hit film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.
It has been 17 years since the film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S released but even today it is considered to be one of the most iconic films of Indian cinema. Starring father-son duo Sunil Dutt and Sanjay Dutt, the film has left an everlasting impression in our hearts. Here is a look at what the makers and actors of Munnabhai M.B.B.S had to say about their super hit film. Watch the video below:
In the video, director Rajkumar Hirani shared that the film is a ‘light-hearted movie’ and not a ‘regular slapstick comedy’. He said, “If you’re going to watch the film with an expectation that people would be rolling on the floor laughing, then that is not going to happen. It is a light-hearted film with an emotional story”. He also mentioned that this movie is bound to make the audience laugh and cry at the same time, however, a ‘constant smile’ is sure to be on their faces while watching it.
Sanjay Dutt, while sharing his experience about the film, said that Munnabhai M.B.B.S is a very ‘sweet film’ about ‘human relationship and human values’. He also added that the film has both comic and emotional element to it.
While Sanjay did not share a lot in the video, his father Sunil compared filming with him (Sanjay) to a game of tennis. “if a father and son are playing tennis together, the father would say ‘I want to him’ while the son would say the same. In that moment, a son tends to forget that he’s competing against his father and would not think of losing the game for his father’s happiness. The same goes for this film, we both wished to perform better than each other. Let’s see what the public has to say about the film.”
Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra shared that no one other than Sunil Dutt would have been able to ace the role of Sanjay’s character’s father in the film. “There is so much complexity in this movie, a father sees his son failing, and then the son succeeds and hugs his father out of love, no one would have been able to do this other than Dutt Sahab…their scene brings tears to my eyes” he said.
