#1 Madhuri stands up for the schoolgirl
Tired of the authorities ignoring her requests for justice, Madhuri leaves for home on a bus. She notices an elderly man groping a schoolgirl, it infuriates her. Madhuri lashes out at the old man and beats him up, venting all her anger and frustration. She also sets an example for the schoolgirl to react to such perverts instead of suffering. On this Independence Day, we should also gain courage from Madhuri and fight for the ones who are oppressed.
#2 Madhuri continues her fight
One of the best characters from the Malayalam movie Prathi Poovankozhi is Saiju Kurup’s police role as SI Sreenath. When Madhuri approaches him for a solution, Sreenath tells her that she should stop her pursuit as Antappan, the local goon who assaulted her is backed by powerful politicians. Madhuri doesn’t get scared by Sreenath’s threats and continues her fight to find Antappan’s whereabouts.
#3 Madhuri stands up against the corrupt cop
As Sreenath’s initial threats don’t seem to work against Madhuri, he starts intimidating her. He tells her that the police force is going to kill Antappan and frame her for his murder. Madhuri tells him that she is not intimidated by his threats and continues her search for Antappan. We should all take inspiration from Madhuri and be fearless in our pursuit for justice on this Independence Day.
#4 Madhuri inspires the crowd
After thrashing the old man who assaulted the schoolgirl on the bus, Madhuri tells the crowd that everyone has their right to justice. Even though she was acting upon the frustration from an earlier incident with Antappan, Madhuri shows the courage to stand up for a stranger. Madhuri shows us why it is important to speak up and be vocal in these scenes which are quite relevant to watch on this Independence Day.
