Priyanka Chopra Reveals That Instead Of Her THIS Person Should Have Played Mary Kom – Here’s Why

Priyanka Chopra has appeared in a number of blockbuster films. Mary Kom, a biographical sports film based on the life of the eponymous boxer Mary Kom, is one of them. During a recent interview, the actress discussed her casting in the film, saying that she believes Mary Kom should have been played by someone from the northeast because she looks nothing like her. Priyanka also revealed why she agreed to the film despite her reservations.

She also stated in the interview that she believes the titular role should have been played by someone from the northeast. As she says she was hesitant to take on the role of Mary Kom at first because she was a living, breathing icon who paved the way for so many female athletes. Plus, she doesn’t resemble her in the least. As she didn’t look alike physically because she is from the northeast of India and she was being from the north. The part should have probably gone to someone from the northeast, in retrospect.

She added that she got greedy as an actor, But as an actor, she was just itching to tell her story because she had such an impact on me as a woman, an Indian woman, and an athlete. ‘You know what?’ she said when the filmmakers insisted do it. she is going to do it,” she declared, speaking with confidence.

In order to play the iconic boxer Mary Kom in her biographical film, Priyanka Chopra had to undergo a physical transformation. Not only was the actress physically tested, but she also had to mentally prepare herself. On the work front, Priyanka Chopra most recently appeared in the Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss-led film ‘The Matrix Resurrections,’ in which she played Sati. She’ll next be seen in the thriller web series ‘Citadel’ and the romantic comedy ‘Text For You,’ among other things.
