His profession

Randeep Hooda’s Rana is a druglord from Delhi who has come to Mumbai with a dream of owning every part of it. He does not have any ethics or morals and will do anything to get power. He has two henchmen that he trusts and he often goes on killing rampages with a small axe in hand. The way he unflinching kills people without a moment’s thought makes him a little psychopathic too. His only goal is to live like Alexander – The Great, the king who plundered and captured every place on his way.

His methods

He operates with his loyal henchmen by his side. They don’t care about deaths or ruining lives, unlike other mafia gangs who don’t sell drugs because they have a moral code. Rana and his men force young kids to buy drugs and get them addicted to them. They sell for cheap for a bit so that it is easy to circulate and then wreak havoc. Rana does not trust any other gang and actually does not even look for partnerships. He wants to be the sole ruler for Mumbai and doesn’t mind killing an entire gang for it! He is extremely ruthless and that is evident from his first scene itself.

His relationship with Radhe

Radhe is the big and famous cop that is put on the hunt for Rana. Their fight scenes are intense and often result in iconic dialogues like, “Police hu, giraftaar toh karna hi padega” and “Mujrim hu, maarna hi padega.” Rana recognises Radhe as his equal and is very amused and interested in winning against him.

Randeep Hooda’s acting

Randeep Hooda’s gruff voice adds to the viciousness of his character and makes each of his dialogues sound cunning. He was always a great actor and has proved the same via his performance as Rana. His character of Rana will go down in the history of Bollywood as one of the cruellest ones ever.
