Zee5 Premium has hit a Dasara home run with its latest big Tollywood release Raja Raja Chora (RRC). Tollywood fraternity is abuzz with this film’s second release – this time on ZEE5, one of India’s leading over-the-top (OTT) platform.
Praise is pouring in from the Telugu film fraternity for Sree Vishnu, Sunaina, and Megha Akash for the way they have carried themselves seamlessly in this film. Nandini Reddy, director’s “Oh! Baby’ expression said it all. Nandini even pointed film lovers to the small screen, in case they had missed out on this offering when it was released on the big screen.
Writer-directors Prasanna Kumar Bezwada and BVS Ravi too had only words of praise for this flick, which marked the directorial debut of Hasith Goli, who worked with director Vivek Athreya before writing and directing this film. If Tollywood director Sriwass exhorted his loyal followers to watch ‘Raja Raja Chora’ for its content as an outright family entertainer, the film received further endorsement from Gopi Mohan, senior writer, who described ‘RRC’ as a ‘gem of a film’.

Aided by a marketing blitzkrieg, which industry watchers pointed out was unprecedented, the promotion post its digital release saw promising hero Sree Vishnu and Hasith Goli take part in a marathon to win over the fans and critics alike for this Telugu crime comedy-drama, for the second time in a row.
Theatrical Release On August 19
While the film already had a theatrical release on August 19, the film has warmed the cockles of hearts of fans of Sree Vishnu and other stars with the OTT release on ZEE5 Premium. The film convincingly swayed hardened critics to its side since its theatrical release. However, the cash registers did not exactly jingle, ostensibly as the cinema goers were still wary about venturing to theatres, thanks to the second wave of the pandemic.
With the ZEE5 hit counter turning over rapidly for RRC in Telugu states, the makers and the OTT platform are sure that the numbers will only head north during this long Dasara weekend. Sree Vishnu post the release of the film on Zee5 took to Twitter exhorting his fans to meet him at home. “Chorudu at your home. Meet him now on #Zee5,” he noted.
