Saaton Janam: Shakti Mohan And Salman Yusuff Khan Talk About ‘Eternal Love’

Salman Yusuff Khan and Shakti Mohan have marked their first collaboration. The two ace dancers and choreographers are the lead pair in Remo D’Souza’s first single Saaton Janam. Salman Yusuff Khan and Shakti Mohan are two of the most prominent young choreographers in the film industry. Both the dancers got a kick-start after the two competed on the dance reality show Dance India Dance. Both Shakti and Salman were the winners of their respective seasons.

Now in a recent interview, the two dancers shed some light on their first romantic track collab, Saaton Janam. During the interview, Shakti and Salman revealed how their single Saaton Janam celebrates eternal love and the age of dating apps and how that works. Salman revealed that this is the age of millennials. They believe in buying new things instead of mending things. Hence he was a bit hesitant at first due to the concept of this romantic track.

But now the ace dancer and choreographer is surprised with the positive response the song has received and added that people are loving the track. Salman Yusuff Khan also stressed on the point that people need to believe in love and the concept of eternal love. Talking about eternal love, Saaton Janam has also received more than 7 million views since its premiere. After talking about the success of the song, Salman also thanked music director Remo D’Souza and the entire crew of their song Saaton Janam.

Shakti Mohan said she was happy to be in Goa for the shoot since this opportunity provided her a break from the pandemic. While talking about the atmosphere on set, Shakti added that the atmosphere was like “homely” and “fun” and everybody was really friendly. It did not feel like work, she added. She also called Remo D’Souza “Papaji” and said that they just followed his instructions and had a fun time on Saaton Janam’s set.

Apart from talking about the Saaton Janam music video, Shakti Mohan and Salman Yusuff Khan also revealed their diet and fitness secrets. Salman joked when asked about their fitness secrets and said that he and many others need to diet and take care of their physique but Shakti is “blessed”. Shakti intervened and revealed that she has been eating lots of puri sabzi, paranthe and special things from their mother’s kitchen and lots of desserts during the pandemic. She also revealed that in the morning of their waterfall sequence shoot from the MV, she was eating paranthas whereas Salman did not even drink water.

But during the conversation, Shakti revealed that she exercises and performs Yoga every day since she likes it and not just for maintaining a good physique. Coming back to the Saaton Janam music video, Shakti was asked whether the cliff diving scene from the music video was shot in a safe environment or was it done spontaneously without many preparations. Shakti revealed that Remo D’Souza himself would try out every stunt to check if it is safe.

During the interview, both Salman Yusuff Khan and Shakti Mohan were quizzed whether their idea of love has changed since the world’s idea of love has changed with the insurgence of millennial culture and modern dating rules. Salman responded to this question by saying that he is old-school when it comes to romance and love. He believes that nobody is perfect and life is not black & white, it is a grey area. So we need to accept people the way they are and at times compromise, he said. Salman also added that he believes in this philosophy, and hence got married at an early age when everybody said that he is “too young”. He continued and said that he had a baby when everybody advised him not to. He concluded this question by saying that there is no “rule-book” for love and romance.

After Salman’s response, Shakti added that Salman is an “amazing husband and a beautiful father”. In the end, both Salman and Shakti revealed that they want to work again after the pandemic. Shakti also added that she wants to collaborate with director Remo D’Souza again. She also thanked the audience for liking their video.
