Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will begin their probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in Mumbai through simulation exercise to establish whether it was death by murder or suicide. The team has also ensured that they will not be quarantined upon arrival in Mumbai. Reconstruction of the crime scene will help establish the sequence of events and possibly reach a conclusion in the case, CBI officials said. The Supreme Court approved a probe by the CBI after a turf war broke out between the police in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Patna, Bihar.
An official, requesting anonymity, said, “While the complaint made by the father is that of abetment to suicide against Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and others. So, the first task of the probe team will be to ascertain if this was a suicide or murder. Reconstruction will help in the line of investigation.” To ensure that there is no repeat of the Bihar Police quarantine episode when the CBI team arrives in Mumbai, the federal agency has already got in touch with its counterparts in the Maharashtra Police.
