Taapsee Pannu Or Bhumi Pednekar Who Will Be The Leading Lady Of Ketan Mehta’s Biopic On Freedom Fighter Usha Mehta?

The filmmakers in the Bollywood industry are in the loop to bring forward the stories of non-fictional or historically-based people. Recently, the biopic of Captain Vikram Batra, Shershaah was released. The film received immense love from the audience. The spectacular performance of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the biopic added life to the film. Now, moving forward, filmmaker Ketan Mehta is looking forward to making a biopic of his aunt – freedom fighter Usha Mehta. They are working on the final draft of the film. Ketan Mehta and his team have started working on the recreation of the era as well.

According to the latest reports by a leading news portal, the makers of the film have shortlisted two names for playing the role of Usha Mehta in her biopic. The shortlisted names include Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.

The reports from a leading daily suggest that the unforgettable achievements of Usha Mehta have inspired director, Ketan Mehta. The director is the nephew of the freedom fighter, and he wishes to develop a film on the Gandhian who had helped establish Congress Radio. Congress Radio was an underground radio station that amplified Mahatma Gandhi’s message of peaceful rebellion during the Quit India movement.

A source close to the production informed a leading daily that filmmaker Ketan Mehta has simultaneously begun pre-production and aims to kick off the film by late 2021. Ketan has narrowed down his choices for the lead to Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. Both of them are busy with their schedules lately. So the casting of Usha Mehta’s biopic will be finalized by the end of this November.

Talking about Taapsee Pannu’s work front she has exciting projects lined up in her kitty. She will be featuring not only in Bollywood but also in Tollywood and Kollywood. Taapsee Pannu will be next seen in Blurr, Rashmi Rocket, Looop Lapeta, Dobaaraa, Shabaash Mithu, Mishan Impossible, Annabelle Sethupathi, Jana Gana Mana, and Alien. While

Bhumi Pednekar will feature in Raksha Bandhan alongside Akshay Kumar and Badhaai Do. She also has Karan Johar’s film Takht in her pipeline.
