Parambrata Chattopadhyay‘s film is a sure-shot success! Ask us why, and we will tell you that it has the power to make the audience laugh and cry both at the same time. The film revolves around Khelechi Ajgubi, a boy from a poor African town. Khelechi finds himself in midst of a drug scandal when he tries to earn money for his mamma’s treatment. While on business and for drug delivery to a PK, the mafia owning the drug chain, Khelechi meets Raju. A cab driver and a con man, Raju is known for his unique way of solving problems.

Khelechi finds himself in a foreign country that welcomes him with open arms and loud cheers, all because of Raju’s plan. The film is a beautiful take on the reality of media and how the news travels faster than light! It is also a tribute to football and its legacy in West Bengal. Parambrata has done a commendable job, both as director and actor in the film. Ritabhari adds charm and beauty to the screen and plays the role of a journalist who falls for the star footballer!
Saswata Chatterjee has a small but pivotal role as the mafia boss and he has done a very good job. The African actor Emona Enabula (Khelechi) is the main character, but Parambrata clearly bags the award as we see innumerable shades of his character Raju. The romantic and Sufi tracks in the film are soulful and apt. The film is relatable and has a humour that will make you crack up with laughter.
Tiki-Taka is as much for the lovers of cinema as for the fans of football. It has an awesome screenplay and direction. The story is unique and different from the current films that focus on drama. A small-budget film that has the potential to win big hearts!
