Watch the latest episode here:
Shaku goes to Nalu with a hopeful smile but she is left shocked and angry as Nalu angrily rejects Shaku’s proposal. Shaku has probably never seen Nalu with such a straight face and so much anger ever. When Shaku tries to combat Nalu’s no with logic, Nalu simply says that her decision is final and that she will not “give Sweetu” to her. This triggers Shaku and then she begins to literally school Nalu on parenting.
Shaku begins by telling Nalu that children are not objects to give and take and for her to “give Sweeetu” away makes no sense. She says that Sweetu and Omkar have something special and they have thought of each other as potential partners and that is solely why she has come to ask Nalu for Sweetu’s hand. She also tells Nalu that it is not right of her as a parent to make all of Sweetu’s life decisions for her, without even consulting Sweetu and finding out about her thoughts and feelings.

When Nalu blames the difference in their stature to be the problem, Shaku tells her that in love, no one sees stature or colour or affluence. Love just happens and happiness stems from that. She again reiterates her philosophy of not forcing decisions upon children, just because her own parents did the same. She brings up her old lover, Ramesh, whom she had loved and had wished to marry. But her parents did not like his background enough and got her married to Mr Khanvilkar. Shaku admits that she might have everything, but she does not have love and happiness in her marriage. And this is the fault of her parents for marrying her off to a “good family” instead of the “right family.”
As viewers, we see the parallel Shaku draws between her own life and Sweetu’s where Nalu takes the place of Sweetu’s parents. Shaku is completely right and Nalu knows that! But she is too full of pride and anger to admit it. In fact, Nalu is so blinded by Malavika’s words and insults that ever since that day, she has not cared for Sweetu’s happiness at all, but instead spent her energy protecting her from Malavika. But has that gotten her anywhere? From one devil to another, now Sweetu’s life is at Mohit’s disposal to toy with.

We hope that Shaku’s words act like warnings and play in Nalu’s mind over and over again till she realises what a big mistake she is making.
