Sukumari pretentiously chides Abhay when he tells Madhab and Shoroju to take in charge of the Marh family. Thereafter, Madhab overhears Sukumari telling Abhay that if Madhab performs the final rites of Chandra, he can acquire the Marh property. Padma condemns Jagadamba when she holds themselves responsible for Chandra's condition. Padma gets determined to find out the reason of Chandra's illness. Anandamoyee bids farewell to Chandra and decides to leave Marh house.
