Rockstar, a musical sappy romance film starring Ranbir Kapoor, celebrated its tenth anniversary on Thursday, November 11. At this special event, the complete cast of the film held a special reunion via videoconference to reminiscence their nostalgic journey and relive memorable moments of shooting the film.
Ranbir Kapoor, the movie’s protagonist, goes on to describe a specific scene from the song Kun Faya Kun. The scene was characterized as the “most touching moment of his career” by the Barfi actor. Are you curious about the scene he’s referring to?
In the song Kun Faya Kun, there is a point where Ranbir stops singing and just stares up at the infinite sky. This specific juncture has also garnered favorable feedback from both critics and fans alike.
Ranbir Kapoor said, To be honest, I’m not sure why I feel so strongly about it. That’s because I and Imtiaz used to spend too much time together when we were present at the Nizamuddin Durgah; we used to go there at night, sit there and listen to the soulful Qawwalis. There was a lot of pressure that day because the makers said you couldn’t use a tripod or a record. So the constant cam guy had to turn up because the entire song was shot with a steady camera.
In the middle of the discussion, Ranbir Kapoor also disclosed that the film’s famed track Naadaan Parinde had to be re-recorded due to him. Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor was so enthralled by his character that he overperformed in the song. Following the completion of the music, the creators recognized that the power of the video and audio did not match. As a result, they had to re-record the synth melody.
Ranbir also expressed gratitude towards Grammy-winning composer AR Rahman for his brilliant idea during the same meeting. It just so occurred that the lauded musician used the sound of Ranbir’s mobile in one of the film’s songs. That small audio has become the first thing audiences hear when they start watching the movie.
