5 Reasons Why Apna Time Bhi Aayega Reminds Us Of Sonam Kapoor’s Khoobsurat!
பொழுதுபோக்குTV ShowsFrom marrying commoners to having a fiancee with the same name, a look at all the things from Apna Time Bhi Aayega that remind us of Sonam Kapoor’s film, Khoobsurat!
Veer (Fahmaan Khan) and Rani’s (Megha Ray) love story in Apna Time Bhi Aayega is definitely out of the ordinary. A common village girl with ambitions gets married to a prince and this leaves a lot of people unhappy, yet the two find love in each other. Recently, this royal show completed its 150 episodes! We noticed that Sonam Kapoor’s film, Khoobsurat, which was inspired by Rekha’s 1980 film of the same title also has many similarities with this Zee show! The film stars Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Ratna Pathak Shah among others. From the royalty to the bitterness, take a look at all the similarities that Apna Time Bhi Aayega shares with Khoobsurat!
The depiction of the Royal life
Both these projects depict the life of the Royals in detail. They talk about old royals and glorify history meanwhile also showing how new royals have to deal with rules and engagements in the 21st-century world. These two projects also have their own mysteries and incidents like Veer’s involvement in Rani’s father’s arrest or Veer being an illegitimate child of his father, and similarly in the film, the King’s accident and the death of the older son!

The heroines are commoners
We know that Rani is a common girl from a village who has big dreams but her father worked at the palace and after he was jailed, Rani had to take his place. In the film, Sonam is a physiotherapist, Milli, who enters the palace to treat the king’s leg. Milli comes from an upper-middle-class family who are loud and brash, very unlike the people of the Royal family. For Rani too, the Royal Palace is a starkly different world from everything she has ever known. But both these heroines capture the hearts of their prince!
Veer and Vikram are very similar
Veer is the prince of the family, but he does not receive the love and attention he needs from Rani Sa and that shows in his behaviour. Still, he is righteous and kind and he saves Rani on many occasions. He actually married Rani to save her from priests who throw rocks at her in a temple. Vikram (Fawad Khan) is also similar. He is introverted and just. He is kind and also looks out for Milli and tries to save her from his own mother’s (Ratna Pathak Shah) wrath!
Even physically, they’re both tall with similar hairdo and body language and we wonder if Fawad was the inspiration behind Veer’s styling in the show.

The Mothers-in-law hate the heroines
Rani Sa (Rajeshwari) and Khoobsurat’s Rani Sa (Nirmala Devi) both dislike these commoners right away. Rajeshwari is furious that Veer married someone in a haste without the knowledge of the family. And the fact that Rani is a servant’s child makes it all the worse. Rajeshwari refuses to accept Rani as her bahu for a very long time and makes her sleep in the servant’s quarters. It is only recently that Rajeshwari made Rani move out of her quarters and into Veer’s bedroom and accepted her as her bahu. In Khoobsurat too, Nirmala Devi is very annoyed with Milli’s antics and her behaviour but she slowly starts realising her good intentions and her sweet heart which makes her accept her eventually!

The fiancees of the heroes
Veer was first engaged to Kiara, a perfect royal lady and Rajeshwari’s first choice for Veer’s wife. Veer did not love her but agreed to marry her because his mother liked her. Then there’s also a Kiara in Vikram Singh Rathore’s life! Yes, before he met Milli, he was already engaged to Kiara, a princess, and the perfect match for Vikram. But Vikram did not love her either!
One stark difference between the two Kiaras is that the Kiara of the show is a negative character, through and through. She does not step away gracefully when Rani and Veer get married and tries to separate them time and again. In the film, Kiara, played by Aditi Rao Hydari is a pure-hearted and understanding princess who lets Vikram go with no hard feelings when he tells her that he cannot marry her!
