FWICE Issues Non-Cooperative Directive Against Gauahar Khan For Flouting COVID-19 Guidelines

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), on Tuesday, March 16 issued a non-cooperative directive against Tandav actor Gauahar Khan. The order came soon after it was proven that the actor did not follow self-quarantine rules post testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. The issued notice states every Indian Cinema association liked with the federation must maintain social distance from the actor for the next two weeks until a fresh order is issued revoking the ban on the actor.
In a press release, the FWICE, the umbrella body of 32 film industry unions, condemned Gauahar for her actions. Considering it as a serious offence, the union said that the actor had endangered the life of several crew members who were working with her on a shoot.

“Such ignorance will not be tolerated by the FWICE and it thanks the BMC and Mumbai Police for the FIR lodged against Ms Gauahar Khan, actress Mumbai for her inhuman, disrespectful act towards the other crew members as well as the government,” said the union. “Any members if found cooperating with Ms Gauahar Khan shall also be liable for stringent disciplinary action by the FWICE,” it added.
The FWICE President BN Tiwari told a reputed daily that Khan’s action was highly unprofessional, non-cooperative and irresponsible. As a result, the whole cast and crew will now have to be quarantined and the ongoing work will be halted until all the COVID-19 guidelines are strictly followed. “She should have followed the rules to made sure that she stays healthy and doesn’t risk others’ lives,” he said.

An FIR has also been registered against the actor for flouting COVID-19 guidelines and endangering the lives of people around her. Although, Khan did not initially react to the issue. However, later she issued a statement claiming her resuming work came after she was tested negative for the COVID-19 virus in her recent check-up. On Tuesday, the actor resorted to Instagram to claim that ‘truth shall prevail’ in a cryptic post.
