Actor Adil Hussain extends gratitude to the Sikh community for coming forward to help during the COVID-19 crisis and asks mosques to be converted into healthcare centers for COVID-19 patients.

Amid the distressing times due to the pandemic, there are many temporary healthcare facilities that have been built in to provide immediate treatment to COVID-19 patients. Several temples and Gurudwara have been converted into COVID-19 healthcare centers to provide immediate aid. Recently, actor Adil Hussain took to his official Twitter handle and requested all mosques to be converted into healthcare facilities amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Adil Hussain wrote, “All Mosques could be transformed into Covid Healthcare facilities, Equipped with Oxygen etc, and help all from all communities! .. Like the Gurdwaras in so many places.” He also expressed gratitude to the Sikh community by saying, “I am so very Grateful to the Sikh community for showing, as they have always, what service to Humanity means!” Several fans appreciated him for coming forward with such a beautiful thought.

Earlier, public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the Supreme Court asking a proper ordinance to convert the religious and charitable places that enjoy tax benefits, into Covid Care Centers. The plea also requested for a district-wise data collection of Covid-19 patients across the country containing the details of demand for oxygen, medicine, hospitalization, etc. It also requested to convert religious places into Covid centers. The plea said their funds should be used in Covid-19 relief “as this money has been given by the public for social and religious work and in today’s time there is no greater social work and religion than saving the lives of people from Coronavirus.”

This PIL is filed by Manu Gaur, President of Taxpayers Association of India. It also urges to open the use of necessary drugs and medicine and eliminating the addition of GST on the same during the Covid period and/or to invite the other companies to come manufacture and distribute for saving lives of citizens of India.
