Pratik Gandhi’s Bollywood debut is just around the corner and fans are looking out eagerly for his performance. However, trolls and religious viewpoints have come up for his character of Raavan. The plot of the film, is a love story of two theatre actors and is scheduled to release theatrically on October 1, 2021. However, before the release, the film had to undergo a title change.
Pratik Gandhi standing strong against trolls shared that he’s only an actor playing an actor in the film. It’s his character who plays Raavan on stage, and what is wrong with that? How is that hurting anyone’s sentiments? If you have a film on Rama, someone has got to play Raavan, isn’t it?. These baseless comments have really created a negative name for no reason just ahead of the release.
Pratik Gandhi also takes his opportunity and has squeezed it to the fullest and by the looks of the trailer, it looks like a promising debut. Pratik rose to absolute fame with his character in Scam 1992 which showcased his acting skills to it’s fullest.
Bhavai is a Hardik Gajjar directorial and even before Scam 1992 had released, Pratik wanted to sign the dotted line for this and having no experience in Hindi cinema had left the decision to Gajjar if he’d like to take this shot with Pratik or drop it. Both Pratik and Hardik are making their Bollywood debut as actors and directors. Hardik’s series titled ‘The Casino’ garnered immense appreciation for the plot characters and the storyline as a whole and even won accolades to his kitty.
The film was slated to release under the title Raavan Leela. However, due to public backlash and protests, the makers decided to change the name of the film to Bhavai. There was also a dialogue in the trailer where Pratik’s character asks why Raavan was considered evil, even though the circumstances were a little bit similar for both him and Lord Ram. That dialogue had also come under the radar of the people.
