Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj Threatened By Karni Sena As They Demand A Change In Its Title

The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is considered to be one of the busiest celebrities. With at least a few good movies releasing every year, the actor is constantly busy shooting one film after the other. Even now, Akshay has seven upcoming releases in his kitty. However, one of his films is in peril right now. Karni Sena has recently threatened Akshay Kumar and the makers of Prithviraj to abide by their demand or be ready to face dire consequences.

This is not the first time Karni Sena has threatened a film. Previously, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat also faced similar threats. And everybody was witness to the hurdles the film had to face even before and after its release. Now Karni Sena has come forward with a few demands for the makers of the Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar’s Prithviraj.

Karni Sena has kept three conditions before the makers to ensure a smooth release of this YRF film. First, they want a special screening of the film to be organized before the film is released, for the members of the Rajput family to see. Second, the Rajput family will see the film and decide whether it can be released or not, only then can the film be open to public viewing. Third, the title of the film needs to be changed from ‘Prithviraj’ to ‘Veer Yoddha Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’. This statement has been issued by Surjeet Singh Rathore, president of the youth wing of the Sena, as they feel the title Prithviraj doesn’t do justice to the great King. Whether the makers would succumb to the demands or face a similar fate as Padmaavat is for us to wait and watch.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar has a pretty impressive lineup for the year 2021 as well as 2022. He’ll be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’, Ranjit M Tewari’s ‘Bell Bottom’ and Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s ‘Prithviraj’ this year. Whereas, his other films, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Ram Setu’ are scheduled to release in 2022.
