The second wave of COVID-19 in India has been very putting too much pressure on the country’s medical and healthcare system. A lot of celebrities from all over the world have stepped up to donate medical instruments and provide monetary help, to ease the burden. Recently, actor Anupam Kher also joined the list of those celebrities. Read on to know more about it.
Anupam Kher, who is one of the most acclaimed and celebrated actors of the Indian film industry, recently donated five oxygen concentrators and five BiPAP machines to the municipal corporation of Mumbai, BMC, under his new initiative, Project Heal India. The actor has shared that he is planning on buying more medical instruments, like ventilators and oxygen concentrators, to donate to the ones in need.
Project Heal India has begun under the Special 26 actor’s foundation, named The Anupam Kher Foundation. Anupam Kher mentioned that through this project, he aims to reach out to a lot more institutes that need medical instruments and equipment. The project has been founded along with Dr Ashutosh Tewari of the Global Cancer Foundation, USA, and Baba Kalyani of Bharat Forge, India.
