Dipannita Sharma Talks About Shutting Down Trolls, Baby Plans And Her Miss India Days In This Exclusive Interview

Ahead of Raat Baaki Hai, actress Dipannita featured on Unboxed with ZEE5 and discussed her personal life while also sharing some fond memories with Rahul Dev.

Actress Dipannita Sharma is all set to star in an upcoming whodunnit titled Raat Baaki Hai. Ahead of her film’s release, she featured on Unboxed with ZEE5 and spilt some details about herself that made us adore her even more. She candidly spoke about her personal and professional life, giving us a glimpse into the world of Dipannita Sharma. Read the Q/A session below to find out more details about what she said.

1. Are you a morning person or a night person?

She said that she is a night person. She revealed that she does not like to wake up early in the morning. However, this also does not mean that she likes staying out at nights. “I just love my me time in the nights, watching what I want, reading what I want, just spending time with myself”, she said.

2. Which is the latest series that you binge-watched?

She said that she watched Silence on ZEE5 recently. As for the series, she said that she watched Border Town.

3. Do you like Tea or coffee?

She initially said she likes both but later changed her answer to coffee. “I think I like my cappuccino more than I like my black tea”, she shared.

4. One thing that makes you angry?

She revealed that it makes her very angry when people don’t follow COVID-19 protocols. “It’s not that difficult, please follow protocols”, she added.

5. Have you ever used your star status to get away?

She jokingly revealed that she has never used her star status to get away. “I have never realized only that I have a star status”, she said while laughing.

6. Last lie you said?

She shared that her lies are very simple. For example, when she’s trying to get some sleep and someone from work calls her, she’ll just say that she’s busy when in reality she is sleeping.

7. What is your cheat meal like?

“I have everything in moderation, but I eat chocolates a lot”. She shared that she loves dark chocolates or Belgian chocolates, especially when they are 60 per cent dark or more.

8. How do you stay fit?

She believes that staying fit is about lifestyle and doing everything in moderation. “We must be very mindful of the diets we are following. We must consult someone…not just go by hearsay”. She also revealed that she does not smoke or drink either.

9. What is the worst comment on social media you have received?

She said that negative comments generally come from men who cannot handle women of a certain age wearing swimwear etc. She said that when she shared vacation pictures in swimwear, she received some negative comments. She even replied to some of those comments to shut down these trolls. “Sometimes when you stay silent, it damages you more”, she said.

10. Which is your favourite holiday destination?

Assam and Goa in India, whereas there are many places she likes outside India.

11. What is the most romantic thing you have done for your partner or vice versa?

“Dilsher has done a lot of romantic things for me. He has always managed to do surprise birthday parties for me”, she said. She also added that she too tried to surprise him on his birthday once. “I sort of failed quite miserably because he is too smart and he just got to know”. When she tried to surprise her husband by taking a friends help, he caught on to it immediately.

12. Biggest lesson life has taught you?

“There is a lot of good in the world despite everything. But, always be careful because not everyone is your friend”.

14. Weirdest things or silliest thing you searched on Google last?

She revealed that she is a history lover which also includes the history of people. She loves knowing about people especially yesteryear actors etc. So, the last thing she googled was about a yesteryear actor or actress. She also shared that she likes to know more about those actors from the industry who have been forgotten per se.

15. What have you googled about Chris Hemsworth?

She looked up about how he started his career with an Australian daily soap, his family, his wife and kids etc. To her, it isn’t just about his hot pictures at the beach. It is more about the person for her.

16. What is the strangest rumour you have heard about yourself?

She shared that people think she is a fitness freak but she is not. She just believes in wellness.

17. Top three songs on your playlist?

Koi Yahan Aha Nache Nache, Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar, Moonlight Sonata.

18. How about your own song with Leslie lewis?

Haye Re Haye Tera Ghungta was probably the second or third video she shot. “It was probably my most popular one because it was Jalwa 3. I love that song and I love the original as well, I think the rehash was really interesting”, she said.

19. Which is your fondest memory from Miss India 1998?

The fondest memory for her from Miss India 1998 is the fact that they bonded so well. “I truly say because I haven’t had that example from any other batch”. She shared that except for one contestant who actually won the title, everyone else shared a close bond. In fact, they have a WhatsApp group where they stay in touch. “We managed to get something more than the platform”.

20. What is your biggest regret?

Her biggest regret so far is that she hasn’t been able to travel to a plot of places in India and outside India. “Although I have travelled extensively, yet there are so many places to go. Now we are in a situation where we should not be travelling so I don’t know when my next travel will be and that makes me nervous”.

21. One thing you are guilty of?

“Sometimes staying up all night and binge-watching. But, that is something I really enjoy”, she said.

22. Milind Soman or Rahul Dev, better supermodel?

She said that she really loves her co-star Rahul. “He is such an amazing guy. I mean, he is an amazing professional of course but what a guy he is! Milind is just mad and I think it is and I think it is very tough for me to choose, really”. She thinks that they both have a different ‘space’ when it comes to modelling and she loves them both.

23. One lesson you have learnt from your mom?

Dipannita revealed that the biggest lesson she has learnt from her mother is not to give up on one’s individuality.

24. What was your first reaction when you first heard the script of Raat Baaki Hai?

Dipannita said that she is a ‘thriller lover’ and the thriller genre is her favourite. That is why she was intrigued when she first heard the script. “I was like Oh My God, this is such an interesting premise. If it works out, I’d be so happy to be a part of it…it is also based on a play, which was another interesting part. This was the first project I signed right after lockdown. We were shooting in Ranthambore, there were a lot of interesting things attached to the project”.

25. How was your experience shooting in Pandemic and in Rajasthan?

She said a lot of discussion about the movie happened on zoom calls and that she got to meet her Raat Baaki Hai cast in person directly on set. She shared that the location was beautiful and that the ensemble cast was quite interesting which made it even more fun.

26. Can you share an anecdote from the shooting?

She shared that working with Rahul Dev after so many years was quite unique for her. She also said that she got to reunite with former colleague Sameer Malhotra on-screen again. “There was a scene where three of us were together and we got a very memorable picture. It was almost like nostalgia”. She further added that she had a pool shot and she had to do it under scorching sunlight. She was afraid of getting a zebra tan on her face.

27. One thing about Rahul that fans don’t know?

“He’s actually a very funny guy and he is very straight-faced funny”, she said.

28. Apart from Rahul, one co-star you’d like to work with again?

She said that she would love to work with all of them again, especially Annup Sonii.

29. Top 3 murder/thriller that you like?

A Kind of Murder, Teesri Manzil, Along Came a Spider.

30. 3 reasons why one should watch Raat baaki hai?

She said that the plot is really great, the cast is really good and it’s on a great platform.

31.  When would we see baby Sharma?

Dipannita Sharma jokingly said that Dilsher and she haven’t gotten down to that bit yet. They have just begun discussing it. “As of now, baby Sharma is my nephew..when the time is right I think we will have it (a baby)”.
