Father’s Day: Writers For ZEE5 Talk About The Life Lessons They Learnt From Their Beloved Daddies

Shrudi Shyam . Jun 16, 2021 .

Whether it is to be kind, expressive or to never give up without trying, there are many life lessons we love from our superdads. Take a look at what the writers for ZEE5 learnt from their fathers.

While there’s no denying that mothers are the ultimate superwomen we have, we also can’t help but say that fathers are probably one of the most underrated superheroes of our lives. All their lives, fathers work hard, love their family, often express less and just sacrifice everything for their children’s happiness. And as children, we often learn so much from our fathers, so many life lessons, but we never really acknowledge him for that. So this Father’s Day (June 20), all the writers for ZEE5 will share the one life lesson they learnt from their father.

Aboli Vaze

Aboli mainly writes for Hindi and Marathi language content. She says that although her dad has taught her many lessons, the one she actually follows the most is giving her best in whatever she does. She also says that he always encouraged her to aim for the best and to not be afraid of failing. Aboli quotes her father saying, “Believe in yourself and give your best, no matter what you’re doing!” She also jokingly adds how he often lectures her about saving and investing knowing that Aboli likes shopping.

Tanvi Rumale

Tanvi’s main area of focus is the Hindi and Marathi content. The life lesson that Tanvi learnt from her father, for which she praises him, is his honesty. She says that he’s always been honest about his shortcomings and mistakes with Tanvi and her sister. She adds, “Growing up, he would lecture us for hours about how to live better, how to succeed and he often also discussed history and politics with us. It was due to these discussions that I felt a genuine interest in these topics too.” Talking about how he supports her writing Tanvi says, “He is a genuinely supportive and warm person and he always encourages me to write and even sends me story ideas! I don’t say this often but I am very grateful to have him in my life and I know that he can guide me through anything!”

Srimoyee Bhattacharya

Srimoyee predominantly writes about Bengali and Hindi language content. She starts off by describing her father as a “jovial self-driven man”. Among all the amazing things he’s taught her, what Srimoyees values the most is “the importance of always finding and focusing on the positives in life”. Moreover, she adds that they have a deep, mutual love for food, dogs and going on drives and random little adventures.

Vishnu Mohan

Malayalam and Tamil are the languages that Vishnu writes for. Talking about his father, Vishnu says, “From being brought up in a small village to retiring as a Naval employee, my father had an interesting life filled with some great stories.” Vishnu considers him a great storyteller who through his stories, gave him some great tips for life. However, Vishnu believes the best thing his dad ever taught him was “to never say no without trying”. “Be it to a colleague asking for help with their work, or something like fixing a leaking tap at home, he tells me to give things a try and never think that you don’t have to do it as it isn’t your job. I think this is one lesson I’ll take to the grave,” concludes Vishnu.

I personally focus on Hindi and Malayalam content available on the platform. I’ve always been told I’m my dad’s carbon copy. Whether it’s his looks or his temper, apparently I’ve inherited all of them. But the one thing I’ve gotten from him, the one thing that he’s given me as a life lesson is that “emotions never make you weak”. My dad, despite his large structure, is a softie by heart, and he never saw it as a flaw. In fact, he always taught me, “strongest are the people who can express their emotions without any fear”. But along with this, another important thing he taught me was to never bow down when I’m not at fault but always apologize when it’s my mistake.

Debanjali Kabiraj

Debanjali is the writer for Hindi and Bengali content. She says that the biggest lesson her father gave her was “to be fearless”. To never walk away from challenges and speak up when she witnesses any injustice. She says while quoting her father, “If you are at fault, own up and if you are truthful, never let anyone walk over you.” She claims that this has helped her face the world stronger whenever she was doubtful.

Aditi Sharma

The wide array of Hindi content on ZEE5 is what Aditi writes about. Being short-tempered like her dad, Aditi says that they share a very different bond. She recalls having multiple arguments with her dad and then not talking for days. But she also appreciates her dad for always being there to make up with her. Aditi says her dad taught her to be more responsible and independent because he always says, “You should always have your own identity no matter what”.

Bhavna Gandikota

Bhavna’s writing is mainly focused on Telugu and Tamil content on ZEE5. She shares a very loving relationship with her father, who works as a Business Line Manager for a Swedish company. Talking about the most important life lesson he gave her, Bhavna says the most important thing he taught her was “be kind and everything else will follow”.

Vatsal Thakore

Vatsal’s writing focuses on the wide array of Hindi language content across the platform. Vatsal has a very fun, friendly bond with his father. Although he has learnt many things from his dad, the one thing he values the most is “how to be practical in life, and how to learn from all experiences in life.”

We hope this brought a smile to the face of all the incredible fathers mentioned above. Here’s wishing all the daddies around the world a very Happy Father’s Day!
