While speaking with Twinkle Khanna, Jackie Shroff was seen recounting some of his father’s memories, including how his father had foretold a few things that came true. On Twinkle Khanna’s Tweak India Platform, he was seen telling Twinkle Khanna that his father had cautioned Jackie Shroff’s brother not to go to work today since it was a horrible day for him and that he should not leave the house. Jackie Shroff’s brother worked as a mill worker at Century Mills at the time, and when he did not show up for work that day, he swam out to the sea to save someone and drowned because he did not know how to swim. He went on to say that the day Jackie Shroff lost his brother was a terrible day. He also mentioned that He was told by his father that he was to be an actor, which he achieved. His father had a good relationship with the Ambanis and had predicted that they would be very successful business people. Dhirubhai responded by claiming that the man had gone insane.

Jackie Shroff’s Gujarati father, Kakubhai Haribhai Shroff, and his Mongolian-Chinese mother. His father was born into a Gujarati merchant family. However, they lost all of their wealth in the stock market, forcing his father to leave home when he was 17 years old. When he and his mother were both teenagers, they met and got married.

Twinkle Khanna complimented Jackie on his English accent, to which he said, He was born in Mumbai, and the locals speak that language. Unfortunately, he did not continue his education through the 11th grade. He kept his ears open, watched certain  movies, and made Clint Eastwood his English instructor
