Khirer Putul: Try making these yummy Motichoor Laddoos that are Raja Samantak’s favourite

In the latest Zee Bangla TV serial Khirer Putul, Raja Samantak (played by actor Suman Dey) loves Motichoor Laddoos, and personally requests his kitchen staff at his palace to make them. Sudha (played by Sudipta Roy), who later becomes Duorani, is an expert at making these. She surprises Raja Samantak with a delicious batch of Motichoor Laddoos, which delights him to no end. Here’s how you too can make these scrumptious sweets from scratch at home!

With the pandemic looming ahead of us, we find ourselves with more time at home than ever before. So if you have a sweet tooth and want to master your cooking chops, why not make the most of this time and whip up these delectable Motichoor Laddoos? They are sure to be a success, so ahead and treat yourself, and surprise your family too!
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- A pinch of kesar (saffron)
- ¾ cup water
- 2 to 3 whole cardamoms (seeds only)
- ½ tablespoon magaz (melon seeds)
- oil for frying
For the sugar syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- A pinch of saffron
Method:
- Prepare the sugar syrup by heating the sugar, water, and saffron until everything has dissolved.

Make a smooth batter that is free of lumps by blending together the gram flour, crushed saffron, and water.

Heat oil in a pan, and deep fry large spoonfuls of the batter until golden. Remove from heat and keep these aside.

Mix the fried batter and the sugar syrup in a blender. Add a bit of hot water to ease the process along.

Add the melon and cardamom seeds and continue to mix.

Grease your palms and shape the mixture while still warm into balls.
- Let cool for an hour. You can pop them into the fridge for an hour or so.
These mouthwatering Motichoor Laddoos are going to be a surefire hit! Enjoy them as the sweetest ending to a meal, or even as a snack!
