Like Pareeksha, These Underprivileged Students Make Us Believe In Dreaming Big

Pareeksha is a ZEE5 original movie which showcases the need for good education to be imparted on the young minds of our country. The movie features Adil Hussain, Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri, and child actor Shubham in pivotal roles. The story of the movie revolves around a man Bucchi who wants his son Bulbul to study in a CBSE school. The trailer of the movie will swell your heart with pride and you will understand the pain Bucchi goes through in this brilliant story. The inspiring film Pareeksha is all about ‘sapne sach karenge’ as it shows us how everything is possible if you dream big and work hard to achieve it.

The film makes us believe in dreaming big just like Bucchi who has big dreams for his son. Education is like a stepping stone towards a progressive society. In this movie, every father will relate to Bucchi whose only dream for his son is to provide him with a good education. 1. Shiva Kumar Nagendra

Shiva Kumar Nagendra’s parents migrated to Bengaluru 25 years ago from Mysore. His father who was a truck driver met with a road accident and since then was bedridden for almost three years. Shiva’s mother started making garlands and he along with his sister started selling it to cope with the financial problems. Moreover, Shiva even started selling newspapers in the morning so that he could continue his studies. In class 10, Shiva topped and went ahead to get a seat in Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) and was offered a job by Wipro. Shiva rejected the offer and decided to take up the Common Admission Test (CAT). He soon graduated from IIM this year and is working with a Bengaluru based start-up.

2. Shalini Arnugam

Shalini is the school topper in class 10 and scored 84.8% in class 12. This 17-year-old girl juggled between household chores and her studies to keep her family intact. Shalini’s father who was a painter fell off a building and was bedridden. Her mother started doing domestic work in other houses. But unfortunately, Shalini’s brother was diagnosed with blood cancer before her 12 exams. Despite several difficulties, Shalini did not give up and did amazingly well in CAT. She got herself a seat in REVA University, Bangalore where she is studying BTech. Shalini hopes to do her Masters abroad and wants to go for civil services and she wants to help those who have been struggling in life.

3. Yogendra Singh

The 28-year-old guy who was an IIM Lucknow student hailed from a village near Daltonganj in Jharkhand. Yogendra’s father was a rickshaw puller and his mother was a homemaker. He was the eldest of seven siblings and started his struggles at an early age. He took up a Polytechnic Diploma exam and got selected in it. Yogendra finished his BTech from BIT Sindri in Dhanbad and also took coaching to crack CAT exams. Soon, he got a call from IIM Lucknow.

4. Sushma Verma

Sushma Verma took up microbiology and post-graduated from the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) in Lucknow. She has now enrolled herself in a PhD course and is only 15 years old. Sushma’s father was a daily wage labourer and her mother a homemaker. In June 2007, Sushma created history as her name got registered in Limca Book of Records for being the youngest student, aged 7 years to pass the class 10 Board. She went to graduate in Botany from Lucknow University at the age of 13 and later finished MSc at 15.

5. Bernita Mondal

Bernita who was from a small town in West Bengal settled in Bengaluru. Her father is an auto-rickshaw driver and mother a homemaker. Bernita scored 95% in class 12 exams and is currently is in her first year of BTech. Her main motive is to get a gold medal in college. She even hopes to go abroad for MTech.
