Monday Motivation: Jamuna Dhaki’s Anuradha can inspire Jibon Saathi’s Salankara to be a better mother-in-law
பொழுதுபோக்குTV ShowsJamuna Dhaki’s Anuradha and Jibon Saathi’s Salankara are both mothers-in-law but are anything but similar. Here is what we think Salankara can learn from Anuradha.
Zee Bangla’s popular serial Jamuna Dhaki stars Sweta Bhattacharya as Jamuna and Rubel Das as Sangeet in the lead roles, whereas Jibon Saathi stars Diya Basu as Priyam, Sayan Karmakar as Sankalpa and Shrabani Bhunia as Jhelum in the lead roles. Women have to leave behind their families when they get married and accept their in-laws as a part of their family. So it is only right that they get the utmost love and care. While Jamuna has been fortunate enough to get immense affection from her mother-in-law, Priyam has always yearned for her mother-in-law Salankara’s motherly love but has often been disappointed. We think Salankara can take note of how to be a better mother-in-law from Anuradha.

Supportive of daughter-in-law’s career
Jamuna has a unique profession as a dhaki. While many protested against her choice of being a dhaki, Anuradha has been supportive of her career since the beginning. Time and again, she has encouraged Jamuna to practice her art and has gone against her family for this. Salankara, on the other hand, has always been a hurdle in Priyam’s career. From calling Priyam a ‘hawker’ to demeaning her dreams, she has done it all. We hope she stops creating problems in Priyam’s business and helps her in times of need.
Broad-minded
Salankara Banerjee is a woman who believes in outer beauty and judges a person on the basis of their looks. She always wanted Jhelum to be her daughter-in-law instead of Priyam because the former is more beautiful. Anuradha has the exact opposite idea about beauty standards. She judges a person on the basis of their qualities and not their looks. She has always appreciated Jamuna’s qualities as a good wife and daughter-in-law. We wish all mothers-in-law were as good as Anuradha.

A pillar of strength
Salankara never wanted Sankalpa to marry Priyam and has always tried to create problems between the couple. Although Sankalpa has time and again rejected her ideas and thoughts about Priyam, Salankara has never accepted Priyam as her daughter-in-law. Anuradha, on the other hand, has been a constant supporter of Jamuna and Sangeet’s relationship. Despite constant objection from many members of the Ray family, Anuradha has fought her way through, to have Jamuna as her daughter-in-law. She has always given Arya a befitting reply whenever she has tried to create problems between the couple.
Mother figure
Every girl wants to have a mother figure in their mother-in-law and Jamuna was lucky enough to have Anuradha. From supporting her career to protecting her from people like Ragini and from scolding Jamuna for mistakes to loving her unconditionally, Anuradha has always treated Jamuna like her own daughter. Salankara, however, has always been critical of Priyam. From trying to throw her out of the house to conspiring against her, Salankara has done many things which no mother would even think of doing to her own daughter. Despite that, Priyam has always treated her mother-in-law with respect. We hope she can see the kind nature of Priyam and start treating her like her own daughter.
