Mouni Roy Says Bhagavad Gita Must Be A Part Of School Syllabus Across India

Actor Mouni Roy, who is currently gearing up for Brahmastra, stated that Bhagavad Gita should be a part of the school syllabus across India. Read for more details.

Mouni Roy, who was last seen playing Uma Kulkarni in ZEE5’s  London Confidential, is currently gearing up for her upcoming Bollywood flick, Brahmastra. Starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the Naagin actor will be seen portraying Damyanti from the Vana Parva book of the Mahabharata. Mouni Roy rose to popularity in a very short span of time. In a recent interview, Mouni shared that before lockdown she started reading the Bhagavad Gita and said she feels like this book should be a part of the school syllabus across our country.

Mouni Roy shares her views on Bhagavad Gita

Talking about the same, Mouni Roy further added that not only school kids but every person should read Bhagavad Gita. The actor also shared that readers shouldn’t take Bhagavad Gita as a religious book. According to Mouni, Bhagavad Gita can answer all your questions about life. She thinks society needs this knowledge or awareness. Furthermost, she shared how she started reading this book.

Sharing the same, Mouni Roy revealed that before the lockdown, one of her friends suggested she reads Bhagavad Gita and hence she started slowly started reading the book. She also believes that after reading Bhagavad Gita, there have been changes in her personality. The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor further shared that she had read Bhagavad Gita Ka Saar when she was a kid but failed to understand it until now. She said once she was matured she could understand it’s each verse.

In this interview, Mouni Roy was asked if the entertainment industry should inculcate the teachings of the Gita. She went on to explain how the entertainment industry can be stressful for everyone working here. She said to release this stress, one should read Bhagavad Gita as it will not only help you find your answers but also releases your stress. She also expressed that she genuinely feels that Bhagavad Gita is more than a religious book. It is ‘life ka saar’, eternal knowledge, and it is basic knowledge.

On the work front, Mouni Roy will next be seen in Brahmastra. Helmed and written by Ayan Mukerji, the fantasy and action drama film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film is slated to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
