John Abraham And Emraan Hashmi talk about Bombay in the ’90s, their future projects and their film Mumbai Saga ahead of its release this Friday!

John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi are coming together for Mumbai Saga, a film that depicts the gangster life in Mumbai city from the ’80s and 90s’ era. John, who has been seen as a cop and a secret agent before will be seen as don Amartya Rao and Emraan Hashmi will be play top cop, Vijay Savarkar. In an interviewwith a portal, they spoke about Mumbai back when it was referred to as Bombay. John said he has seen and heard of gang fights actually taking place in Andheri, where he used to live. Emraan confessed that in the time that has passed, the traffic has become horrible and the influx of more and more people has in fact made the city more congested.

John Abraham said that the gangsters he knew of were actually nice people and a “bro code” even existed among them. He confessed finding something human about them as well. John plays the don in the film who is power-hungry and will do anything to have Mumbai in his hands. John has been doing negative characters of late. His film lineup this year consists of Pathan, Ek Villain Returns and Mumbai Saga and in all of these three films, he will be donning grey shades.

Surprisingly, Emraan Hashmi assumed that he would be playing a negative role in the film!

Hashmi confessed to being typecast as a face for everything wrong, or negative and was wildly surprised when director Sanjay Gupta approached him for the role of a cop! Emraan has played an undercover cop twice in his lifetime, but never a cop dressed in the police uniform! As Emraan has worked with Sanjay Gupta, he has also worked with Milan Luthria, another director who loves the crime genre.

Emraan pointed out that both directors pitch their characters as larger than life. Sanjay Gupta has a way with colour that is so unique to him and is easily recognisable, admitted Emraan Hashmi. He pointed out that Milan Luthria has some different aesthetic in play in his films.

John will next be seen in Satyamev Jayate 2 as well. Emraan Hashmi on the other hand also has his second film Chehre, along with Amitabh Bachchan releasing on April 9. Emraan is also set to finally collaborate with Salman Khan in Tiger 3 which will be the third instalment of his Ek Tha Tiger film universe.

Mumbai Saga releases on March 19. The film also features Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal and Rohit Roy among others.
