Pavitra Rishta 2: Did You Know It Was Ankita Lokhande Idea For Show’s 2nd Installment To Ekta Kapoor? Actress Makes Interesting Revelations

Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Sheikh’s starrer Pavitra Rishta 2 is indeed one of the best shows and has made history. However, the actress in a recent interview mentioned to a leading publication that when she had met Ekta Kapoor for the first time it was she who had convinced Ekta Kapoor that she wants to do Pavitra Rishta. This shows that the actress has laid the very foundation of the show that is a massive hit.

In a conversation with a leading publication, the actress had mentioned that she has done various films but, she wanted to do Pavitra Rishta and she had assembled the cast and crew along with Ekta Kapoor and implemented the idea. Ankita Lokhande’s idea was loved by Ekta Kapoor and the show went on floors right after her idea was conveyed to the cast of Pavitra Rishta.

Ankita Lokhande had mentioned about her then-boyfriend Vicky Jain that it was Vicky who had suggested her to take up the show and act in it. The actress further expressed that if a show like Pavitra Rishta was made by someone else after 5-6 years then  Ankita Lokhande would have been very offended and jealous.

The actress also informed that she always wanted Shaheer to play Manav and said to a leading publication, ”When I got this news that he might play (Manav), there were some other speculative names too. But I was like, ‘Oh God please let it be Shaheer only’. I did not know Shaheer that well, but there was some real, pure feeling – there was something in his eyes. You know Manav as a person is very pure, which is evident in his eyes too. Archana and Manav are characters who wouldn’t talk much, but their eyes speak a lot. Shaheer is a star, but I just felt that when he becomes Manav, he will be Manav. So I just wanted him (for the part)”

Ankita Lokhande confirmed that when Shaheer came on board with them she was confident that he will do his best. When the actress saw Shaheer Sheikh perform his part, she saw a part of Manav in him and appreciated him for his acting skills.

Pavitra Rishta Season 2 airs on ZEE5 from September 15.
