Pookalam Varavayi: With Samyuktha’s vow broken, how will this affect her equation with Kalyani?

In the recent episodes of Pookalam Varavayi, we were introduced to the new character Kalyani aka Kalyanikutty. Fondly addressed as Achamma Kunjamma by Abhimanyu and Harshan, Kalyani is their younger aunt and Saudamini’s younger sister. She came to Kalapurackal with a special mission, which was to make sure that Samyuktha gets impregnated through a special ritual. Now that the ritual and Samyuktha’s vow, both were disrupted by Saptathi, their relations with Kalyani might strain a little.

Kalyani made a grand entry in Kalapurackal, stunning everyone with her wit. She seemed to genuinely like Samyuktha and Saptathi. Kalyani treated them as her own and even asked them to call her Achamma Kunjamma just like their husband Abhimanyu and Harshan did. She came here to perform a special ritual that was supposed to help Samyuktha get pregnant. But owing to Sharmila and Saudamini’s ingenious plan, this ritual was disrupted and Kalyani seems to be really upset with everyone, especially Samyuktha and Saptathi.

Kalyani is very particular about rituals and prayers. She wants everything done in a proper manner at the correct time. We even witnessed how she made sure that not just Samyuktha, but an atheist Abhimanyu also woke up at dawn for an early morning ritual to be performed at 4:00 am. And after so much effort, if the final output is not received, it’s obvious for her to be agitated.

Not just Kalyani and Samyuktha’s, but her relationship with Saptathi might also strain. Kalyani liked Saptathi from the start itself. She liked how devotional the latter was and appreciated her help in the rituals. Thus, if she thinks back to how selflessly Saptathi helped her, Kalyani might understand that her intentions were not wrong, and might forgive her as well.

As the ritual was disrupted by Saptathi, Kalyani was seen fuming in anger and even slapped the former for doing so. Despite Saptathi giving her the reason that the ghee was poisoned, Kalyani didn’t seem to care about it. In fact, she kept talking about how the ghee was already poisonous but that it wouldn’t have harmed Samyuktha.

Despite all these reasons, Kalyani might forgive Samyuktha and Saptathi for their mistakes. This is because she understands a person and their intentions. She already seemed to have a bone to pick with Sharmila and Saudamini with the way she spoke to them. Later, when Saudamini offered her a partnership, Kalyani directly declined it and even yelled at her for suggesting such blasphemy.

This is why we feel that if she thinks about this scene with a calm mind, Kalyani might end up forgiving Samyuktha and Saptathi. Now that the pregnancy ritual is out of the question, she might also help everyone with Samyuktha and Abhimanyu’s remarriage.
