Lately, a lot of actors across the films and television industry have joined politics. Adding to the list is Arun Govil, the actor from Ramayan. Arun Govil who is popularly known for essaying the role of Lord Rama in the 1987 epic show Ramayan, has joined the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on March 18 in New Delhi.

Arun Govil joined the party in a press gathering addressed by the party’s National General Secretary, Arun Singh at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. The actor was spotted saying, although he was never inclined towards politics, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s irritation on the slogan ‘Jai Shree Ram’ is what triggered him to join politics. He also added that the work done by PM Modi has changed his views about politics. The whole event was shared on the party’s official Twitter handle.

Once the ceremony was done in the presence of Arun Singh and the other BJP leaders, the party also shared pictures of the same on their official profile.

Ramayan actor, Arun Govil was also felicitated by the National President of BJP, Jagat Prakash Nadda. The trio then later seemed to have a discussion on the actor’s future with the party.
Although he won’t contest in the election currently, Arun Govil will be seen campaigning for the party.
