Veteran actor and Agga Bai Sasubai’s ajoba Ravi Patwardhan passed away at the age of 84 on Saturday. He has been a part of over 200 Marathi and Hindi films, TV shows, plays but his last role as Ajoba in Agga Bai Sasubai will forever remain in our hearts. While we are going to immensely miss seeing our favorite ajoba on the family drama, Ravi Patwardhan’s performance of a stubborn yet loving granpda will forever remain in our hearts. A doting dad to Asawari, a loving grandfather to Soham and overall a wonderful human, Ajoba will always be remembered.

As a tribute to him, here are a few moments that made us love Asawari’s father-in-law aka Ajoba in Agga Bai Sasubai:
1. Ajoba’s love for Asawari
Even though Asawari was his daughter-in-law, Ajoba loved her as his own daughter. Even though he scolded her a lot and would keep pointing out her mistakes, it was so evident that he did all of this because he cared so deeply for her. He was protective of her and was like a father figure to her.
2. Ajoba as Doting Grandpa
Don’t all our grandparents spoil and pamper us? don’t we go to our grandparents when our parents say no to something? well, that’s Soham’s Ajoba for you. For a strict man like Ajoba, he sure knew how to make an exception for his beloved grandson Soham or babdya.
3. Adorable Tantrums
Ajoba would start throwing tantrums when things would not go his way. While sometimes he was really scary, other times he was nothing but adorable. Asawari would then have to make it up to Ajoba and he would eventually give in. Remember when Ajoba got mad at Asawari following which she prepared his favorite meal for him? That certainly left us in awe of them.
4. Ajoba accepted Asawari’s love
For a man of his age, it must be hard to accept your daughter-in-law’s new love. Even though he was initially against Asawari’s union with Abhijit, he finally came around and accepted their love. In that moment, it was clear that for Ajoba Asawari’s love mattered more than his ideals and believes.
5. Ajoba as a family man
Behind that hard exterior, Ajoba had a soft heart and he loved his family immensely. Even though he would be difficult, stubborn, and hard to convince at times, he was a good persona and was only concerned with the well being of his family and loved ones. We’re surely going to miss his antics on the show.
