Singer Sonu Nigam Inaugurates Blood Donation Camp; Says Planning Ahead Is Crucial

Singer Sonu Nigam spoke about avoiding blood-shortage consequences in the nation, as he donated blood at a blood donation camp he recently inaugurated in Juhu, Mumbai.

India’s battle with the deadly COVID-19 virus has been prolonged and devastating for countless of its citizens. Several celebrities are stepping forward to provide as much help as possible as officials and authorities continue to do their part along with healthcare professionals and frontline workers. Recently, Sonu Nigam, a popular Indian singer, inaugurated a blood donation camp for the needs of COVID-19 patients and donated his blood at the drive as well.

Not too long ago, Sonu Nigam was seen inaugurating a blood donation drive for COVID-19 requirements in Juhu, Mumbai. Following the inauguration, the singer was seen filling out forms and getting ready to donate blood. His blood pressure was checked by a medical professional followed by another step before he proceeded to donate his blood at the donation drive. Sonu Nigam did as asked by the professionals present there and lied down on a bed as they commenced with his blood donation process.

After donating blood, the singer was sprayed with germ sanitiser thoroughly first, before he sat down to replenish his energy with some coconut water. After checking and confirming with reliable sources present at the blood donation camp, he stated how one cannot donate blood till 30 days after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine shot. Further, he added that given how things are looking in India, the nation stands a chance at facing a huge shortage of blood in its blood bank soon.

Therefore, he urged people, who were yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, to step up and donate blood in time so such an issue could be tackled better. Sonu Nigam also stated how it was important to plan in advance for such a situation, to avoid facing severe consequences. Instead of looking for solutions only after encountering a huge challenge, he added, the nation should prepare for it in advance to prevent it to every possible extent.
